We have all heard (or have we??) so much about communication, you would think it would be happening by osmosis. Yet in a world where we have more opportunities and methods of communication than ever before, staff members often lament the lack of communication in their organizations.
Even though the layers of communication can be quite deep in some of our organizations and we may feel we have no control over those “layers,” we can always control whether we ourselves are communicating effectively.
Communication truly is critical in our world. Of course, we need to communicate effectively with our patrons, but we also need to be at the top of our game when it comes to communicating with coworkers, supervisors, and staff.
